In a significant development highlighting the growing importance of cross-border research collaboration, CTC Far East Philippines, Inc. was invited to participate in this year's Multi-National Research Study on Firms in ASEAN. Collaborating with scholars from prestigious academic institutions such as Duke University, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), University of Southern California (USC), and other ASEAN universities including the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), the study aimed to gain a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of both foreign and domestic manufacturing firms operating across the Philippines and six other ASEAN countries. The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) also stood as a crucial partner in this collective effort.
The research initiative strives to establish a comprehensive database containing information on foreign and domestic manufacturing firms, aiming to provide insight into the challenges, strategies, and perspectives of ASEAN firms regarding trade agreements and policies related to business growth.
On March 25, 2024, the UPLB research team conducted an interview with Ms. Divina Antang, one of CTC Group’s business directors, to address critical areas such as global supply chains and the influences of ASEAN regional economic integration and government policies on shaping the business landscape. The discussion with Ms. Antang also delved into the strategic decision-making processes within the firm, emphasizing the pivotal role of governmental support in addressing prevailing challenges.
The participation of CTC Group Philippines in this multi-national research initiative highlighted the firm's recognized expertise in the industry and demonstrated its commitment to contributing to academic discourse and shaping policies conducive to a thriving business environment. Through this collaboration, the research team was able to extract valuable insights into the impact of ASEAN economic integration on business culture, corporate social responsibility approaches, and potential enhancements in government support for business growth.
